\nDairy and plant-based supplier Meadow Foods has announced the appointment of Raj Tugnait as its new chief executive, with effect from May.<\/p>\n
He succeeds the company\u2019s current boss Mark Chantler – the son of Meadow Foods co-founder Simon Chanter – who will remain a part of the leadership team with a seat on the board as a non-executive director and a significant shareholder.<\/p>\n
Tugnait joins with more than 30 years of senior experience in the food sector, starting his career with an entrepreneurial family business before moving to the now Sysco-owned Country Choice and then Brakes Group.<\/p>\n
He was appointed as chief executive of Fresh Direct Group in September 2016 before joining Sysco Specialty Group as chief executive in early 2020.<\/p>\n
