Asda launches new credit card as part of loyalty scheme

Asda has launched a new credit card which will reward customers as part of its loyalty scheme when they shop in-store and online.

Launching exclusively as part of the Big 4 grocer’s loyalty programme, Asda Rewards, the new credit card, supplied by VISA, will see shoppers earning unlimited 1% back on Asda purchases.

These Asda Pounds can be earned through buying groceries, fuel and other services from the leading retailer.

Shoppers will also receive an additional 0.3% cashback on any other purchases outside of Asda.

The scheme will run through the grocer’s rewards app and see 1% earned for every £1 spent with Asda. Customers can then choose to turn their points into vouchers or scan the app via their phones at check-out to redeem any earnings.

From Thursday, Asda Rewards will be expanded across 300 stores, with the scheme rolling out to more stores and online  throughout the summer.

For customers applying for the credit card before 28 August 2022, 2% will be earned on Asda purchases for a 60-day period following the accounts activation.

“By using the new Asda Money Credit Card customers will be able to earn Asda Pounds every time they shop by getting 1% back on all Asda purchases including fuel to later spend in store or online.”
